New song and new demos
This week I finished a new song. Two very rough (think Colorado River in violent spring) demos of the song are available, one with piano and one with guitar. The piano one is slightly less apocalyptically cacophonous than the guitar one.
I’ve also posted new demos of three of my earlier songs:
- “I Believe”
- “Meditation (Psalm 19)”—a new and somewhat improved recording
- “The King of Glory”
“This Is Food Indeed” is my first stab at songwriting that deliberately avoids rhymes and assonances. Uncharacteristically for me, I took that decision rather lightly and just started writing. I did not find the writing any easier to do than when I’m in OCD mode with a rhyming dictionary open in addition to my mainstays of one or more Bibles, a thesaurus, a dictionary, and sometimes Matthew Henry.
