Plunging the toilet

Joe Carter frequently has worthwhile things to say about art. In a fascinating recent entry he took a magnifying glass to the work of a wildly popular Christian artist. Today, Joe begins considering how to rescue art from the critical establishment.

Can Christians save the visual arts? Can we lift it out of the realm of toilets and theories and help restore its proper place in creation? I think we can. In the next posts, I’ll outline a modest proposal for how we can begin the process.

I’m all ears. end of entry

One Response to “Plunging the toilet”

  1. Check out Anneke Kaai. She’s an artist from the Netherlands who has done some wonderful stuff with biblical themes. She has series on the Psalms, 10 Commandments, Apostles’ Creed, etc. I think you’ll really like it.

Her depiction of light is much better than that of the more well known “light-artist”.
