Scared witless

Araceli went out of town this weekend on a church women’s retreat so I convened some movie-lover buddies to watch something our wives wouldn’t be interested in. Mark commissioned an Artisan Cakes dessert for the event: dark chocolate garnished with white-chocolate truffles and a blood-red raspberry sauce.
It lived up to his boast: “killer.”

As convenient as it has been to use Google as my start page for the past five years—and Yahoo! for the four years before that, and the Netscape home page for the two years before that, and the Mosaic home page before that—I’m going to try something different (via Ned Batchelder).

New song, a long time coming

I’ve posted a new song to my music page. This one was a slow cooker; I began writing it almost a decade ago and finished it just last week.

My annoying hang-up
