Play god (or Karl Rove, anyway)
While we’re on the subject of the Electoral College, check out 270 to Win. A slick little Flash app lets you play what-if with the presidential election to your heart’s discontent. Not only can you swing each state Elephant or Donkey and see how it all turns out, but you can learn at a glance which way the states have voted all the way back to 1964 1789! (Of course, knowing who stood for what gets a little confusing in the 19th Century and before what with Whigs and Democratic-Republicans. But perhaps it’s no more confusing than the party affiliations Zell Miller and Jim Jeffords maintained until recently.)
