Blogging for posterity
I imagine archaeologists of the future could have quite a time sifting through all the weblogs of the turn of the 21st century. It will probably prove to have been mostly a wasteland from a literary perspective. But I can’t help thinking maybe a Pepys’s Diary might bob to the surface at some point somewhere in the ocean of the Internet.
This is a little like a limited trial of the monkeys-pounding-on-typewriters experiment. Since both the time and the supply of monkeys is finite, neither Shakespeare nor Pepys is likely to result, my own scintillating contributions notwithstanding.
Har har.
