Beyoncé in the house
I don’t really follow pop music, but sometimes Houston-based acts catch my attention. As I walked through the break room yesterday I skimmed a Houston Comical article on Houston’s own Beyoncé Knowles. I always think it’s cool when I find out that a famous person lives or once lived nearby.
But isn’t it a little dangerous to have the entire world know where a public figure resides? The 41st U.S. President also calls Houston home, but I imagine he probably has better security. And/or fewer people who have his name tattooed on their bodies.
According to the article, Beyoncé still lives in her parents’ home in H-town. There have to be hordes of 17-year-olds who go looking on the Internet for Matthew and Tina Knowles’s address in hopes of making Beyoncé their fiancée. There’s probably a lot of curious 31-year-olds, too, who are happily married but are fascinated by celebrity. Not me. That’s vile.
So it turns out the Knowles house is not listed on HCAD. Oh well.
But speaking of fascination with celebrity, what is it that makes me want to be buddies with an actor just because he appears in my television set and makes me laugh or cry? I would use the term ‘cult of personality’ except that I think it has very little to do with personality and everything to do with persona.
